Made from Sustainable Wood

When sourcing wood items, the environment is top of mind. We primarily work with mango and acacia wood from India because of their sustainable qualities. Not only are these wood types eco-friendly, but many of them also carry an artisanal craftsmanship. Traditional techniques and manual tools are used to carve and shape items by hand, making each piece a unique testament to its maker’s skill and craft.
Acacia wood is a very durable hardwood, from one of the fastest growing trees that naturally absorb carbon emissions. It can withstand heavy use and has good resistance to scratches and other damage. Acacia wood has a tight grain with a distinctive, uneven grain. Its deep color is characterized by warm brown, red and occasionally bronze tones.
The mango wood used is part of a sustainable effort in India – for every mango wood tree that is harvested, at least one is planted in its place. This wood is known for being a hardwood that has resistance to wear and tear. Its susceptible to wood staining and can range in color from light golden brown to dark, green black tones.
Sheesham wood is know for its durability, unique grain pattern and color. It is very strong and has resistance to decay while being easy to maintain. This wood is also eco-friendly since it is harvested from managed forests. Sheesham wood has a very prominent wood grain that is rich in color and ranges from deep reddish brown to light golden brown.
